There are some great new titles available on VOD this week, including the Scandinavian thriller “What Remains,” Rachel Sennott’s film “I Used To Be Funny,” and “IF,” starring Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski alongside a host of other A-list stars.
In addition to starring in IF, Krasinski also wrote, produced and directed the film, which tells the story of a young girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming) who meets a man (Reynolds) who helps her pair kids with new imaginary friends, known as IFs. The live-action cast also includes Fiona Shaw and Liza Colon-Zayas, and the all-star voice cast includes Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, George Clooney and Matt Damon.
These are just a few of the movies available to watch this week on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and your cable service. Check out movies available to buy or rent on demand now.
Stellan Skarsgård and Andrea Riseborough are set to star in the upcoming thriller What Remains (a different film from the 2022 film of the same name starring Anne Heche). In the new film, a confessed serial killer (Gustaf Skarsgård) teams up with a therapist (Riseborough) and a detective (Stellan Skarsgård, Gustaf’s real-life father) to uncover the truth behind the murders. The film was co-written by Stellan’s wife, Megan Everett Skarsgård, and is inspired by the real-life case of notorious Swedish confessed killer Thomas Quick.
Rachel Sennott stars in the drama comedy “I Used To Be Funny” as a comedian who takes a day job babysitting for a family who has a daughter named Brooke (Olga Pezza). As Sam gets involved with the family, things get complicated and eventually Brooke goes missing and Sam goes out looking for her. Be warned, this movie is more drama than comedy. This is a much darker piece of work than the Rachel Sennott you’re used to.
