Admittedly, if you like fluffy pillows, this might not be your ideal choice – it’s a softer pillow designed to bounce back when pressure is removed, and it’s a far cry from the supple, sink-in feel of a fluffy pillow – but we think you’ll like it.
Read on to find out how this pillow compares to some of the other best pillows on the market, and if you’re looking for ways to enhance your sleeping comfort, check out our guide to this year’s best mattresses for every budget.
Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology: A Quick Review
The Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is an unusual pillow that features rounded edges instead of squared ones, a small change that makes all the difference and reduces the chance of stabbing yourself in the eye.
The Hybrid Snow Pillow is a fluffy pillow with a soft, spongy feel that’s designed to be supportive. The pillow’s hybrid construction combines fibers for supple comfort with ultra-soft foam for support. The result is a pillow you’ll love to hug.

This pillow is made with Airscape Foam, a breathable material that doesn’t trap heat. This creates a cool pillow that helps regulate your body temperature no matter the season, so you won’t wake up sweaty in the morning. In fact, it’s one of the few pillows that is cool to the touch.
The mid-loft shape with a 2″ gusset provides just the right level of support for side sleepers, but it’s not specifically designed for side sleepers – it’s also suitable for back and stomach sleepers. The material is also very breathable, making it perfect for people who get hot easily.
Additionally, the outer cover can be removed and washed in the washing machine for easy care.
For side sleepers (as well as stomach and back sleepers who prefer a medium loft instead of a low one) and those who get hot easily, we recommend the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology.
Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology: Prices and Deals
The standard-size Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is $149. At the time of review, it was on sale for $134.10 direct from Casper. The king-size pillow is $179, but you can get it on sale for $161.10.
Casper also makes a variety of other pillows. Fiber options include Original, Essential, Essential Cooling, and Down pillows. The company also makes regular foam pillows and foam snow pillows. They also make regular hybrid pillows.
You might want to look at other options, as the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is by far the most expensive pillow that Casper makes – in fact, it’s one of the most expensive pillows on the market.
A comparable option is the Purple Harmony Pillow, which is more expensive at $199, although the purple pillow is sometimes on sale for $159. Like the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow, the Purple Harmony Pillow is soft and supportive and won’t lose its shape. It’s also a cooling pillow that wicks moisture away from your body. Like the Casper pillow, it’s available in both standard and king sizes. Unlike the Casper, it comes in three lofts, making it suitable for any sleeping comfort.
Another option is the Pluto Pillow, which is custom made to your specifications. Customers fill out a survey and the pillow they receive is customized based on their sleeping position, mattress firmness, and preferences for hot or normal sleepers, smooth or quilted surfaces. Regardless of preference, all Pluto pillows are made with breathable foam that is springy and responsive. The covers are also removable and washable. The Pluto Pillow is significantly cheaper than the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow technology.

Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology: Design and Materials
Foam and fiber combine for comfort and support. AirScape foam and HeatDelete bands are breathable and cool. Cover is machine washable.
The Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is made with what the company calls Airscape Technology, which consists of holes designed to encourage air circulation.
Additionally, this pillow features Casper’s Snow technology, which uses HeatDelete bands on the pillow to wick heat and moisture away from your head and neck area for over 12 hours. All of this is covered with a removable, washable CoolTouch cover for extra cooling comfort. It’s packed with branded technologies, but they work in harmony.

This pillow is made with 3 layers of foam and fiber, so you get the best of both worlds: the fiber provides a soft, comfortable feel, while the 2-inch gusseted foam is supportive and designed to keep your head and neck aligned. As a result, this pillow is extremely comfortable and breathable.
Unlike Casper’s other pillows, this one doesn’t offer a choice of loft.
Casper Hybrid Pillow Snow Technology Review: Performance
Comfortable cooling support
Over two weeks, I slept on these pillows to see how the Casper Hybrid Pillow Snow Technology performed. I tested the setup, comfort, support, and temperature regulation. I also slept on my side, back, and stomach to see if the performance was the same. Here are my impressions…
setting
The Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology Pillows that I reviewed arrived in a single branded box, and while I’m not usually a big fan of branded boxes as they tend to advertise the contents inside, I always appreciate when these boxes make it to their destination safely.

The box arrived in good condition, with two separate boxes inside, each containing an individually wrapped pillow protected by a layer of plastic and shrink-wrapped with a second layer of plastic.
Once I opened the shrink wrap, the pillow immediately began to expand.

Unlike pillows that take 30 minutes or more to fully return to their original shape, Casper Hybrid Pillows with Snow Technology return to their original size in just seconds.
Also, thankfully, there was none of the off-gassing smell that can be experienced with shrink-wrapped pillows.
Our rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Temperature control
I always review cool pillows, but this is the first pillow I’ve ever seen. I was surprised by how cool the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is to the touch.
The combination of AirScape foam and HeatDelete bands creates a breathable, cooling pillow that allows heat to escape instead of building in. I tend to get hot when I sleep, which is why I jumped at the opportunity to review this pillow.

The temperature control worked as advertised, staying perfectly cool during my testing. I slept on this pillow during warmer months, but I tend to keep my air conditioner set to 76 degrees Fahrenheit at night, so if my pillow or bedding is too hot, I tend to wake up too hot. This didn’t happen with this pillow.
In fact, the cooling performance is so good that it had to break Tom’s Guide’s rating system.
Our rating: 5.5 out of 5 stars
Firmness and support
The Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology offered just the right amount of firmness and support. I tend to prefer thicker, higher loft pillows, but I was pleasantly surprised by how this low loft pillow provided both a plush, comfortable and very supportive experience.
I’m a weird sleeper – I sleep on my stomach and on my side, and the pillow was very comfortable in both positions. I’ve also slept on my back (not a natural position for me) and found the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow to be supportive and comfortable in that position.

When I sat in bed watching TV, I would sometimes prop a pillow up behind me and still find it comfortable and supported my back.
The pleasantly firm pillow was springy and maintained its shape so there was no need to re-inflate it, and the pillow’s two-inch gusset ensured it had enough loft to keep my head and neck aligned without causing any pain.

Most reviewers give the pillow high marks, saying it’s comfortable and provides good neck support. The few negative reviews include comments about the pillow being too thick or not high enough.

Should you buy the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology?
Yes, yes, yes: the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology is one of the best pillows I have tested.
The combination of fibre and foam gives you a plush, soft yet supportive sleeping experience, while the cooling properties help regulate your body temperature to keep you cool, and the machine washable outer cover makes it easy to keep your pillow clean.
If a particular configuration isn’t to your liking, that’s okay. The Purple Harmony Pillow is a comparable option and one of my favorites. It comes in three lofts to choose from, but is more expensive than the Casper. Also consider the custom-made Pluto Pillow, which is customized to your sleep style and is significantly less expensive than the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow.
Although we have introduced other options, I still recommend the Casper Hybrid Pillow with Snow Technology. It’s absolutely amazing.
