UK parcel delivery company Evri has announced it will invest £19 million in a new scheme to accelerate the adoption of electric cargo bikes.
The move is expected to give Evri the UK’s largest fleet of electric cargo bikes for parcel delivery and is part of a wider £19 million investment in sustainability, which will see Evri increase its fleet of e-cargo bikes from 33 to 99 and electric vehicles (EVs) from 168 to 270 within the next 12 months.
The company also plans to increase its fleet of electric cargo bikes to 3,000 over the next decade as part of its wider plans to reduce carbon emissions across its network and become a net-zero company by 2035.
Evri has established a dedicated “Last Mile Electrification Task Force” to spearhead innovative solutions, explore partnerships and execute strategies to transform last-mile delivery into a zero-emission operation.
Evri already operates electric cargo bikes in London, Bristol, Oxford and Cambridge, and currently delivers 1.5 million packages a year by bike or EV, and the company aims to triple that number to around 4 million in the next 12 months.
These deliveries are a part of the more than 720 million packages Evri delivers each year.
Berrios
STORIS, a provider of integrated retail software solutions, has announced a partnership with Berrios, a Puerto Rico-based furniture and appliance retailer.

AF Blakemore & Son
CADS’ retail space planning software, StoreSpace, has helped AF Blakemore & Son, the UK’s largest SPAR wholesaler, transform its processes, resulting in more optimised space planning, improved operational efficiency and more informed decision-making backed by accurate data.
AF Blakemore is a family-owned business that operates over 260 stores and supplies over 900 customers. Prior to StoreSpace, they were using separate flat CAD files and several different systems and processes for space planning which were time-consuming and not fit for purpose.
Looking to streamline operations, centralize store data and gain greater insight into store planning, the company enlisted the help of retail space planning experts CADS and their intuitive StoreSpace software.
“StoreSpace has provided AF Blakemore with an easy-to-use planning platform that has eliminated many of the pain points the company previously experienced. The entire business now has easy access to a comprehensive, up-to-date data repository, and processes are streamlined and efficient,” said Richard Burford, Customer Success Specialist at CADS.
