Apple today released a new update to Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser first introduced in March 2016. Apple designed Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced in future released versions of Safari.
Safari Technology Preview 199 includes fixes and updates for Apple Pay, CSS, editing, JavaScript, media, rendering, and WebRTC.
The current Safari Technology Preview release is compatible with the latest versions of macOS Sonoma and macOS Sequoia beta that Apple is beta testing.
The Safari Technology Preview update is available to all users who have downloaded the browser through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences or System Settings. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.
The purpose of Apple’s Safari Technology Preview is to gather developer and user feedback on the browser development process. Safari Technology Preview runs side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and is designed for developers, but you don’t need a developer account to download it.
