The company’s president, Alexander Zoller, delivered a keynote speech focused on the event’s theme, “Integrated. Success.” In his speech, he gave an overview of the company and described many of the company’s technologies, including automated tool presetters, smart tool cabinets and heat shrink tooling solutions.
Following this presentation, two Zoller customers shared their personal experiences using Zoller equipment. Daniel Skwierczynski, Director of Operations at ERA Industries, spoke about his company’s experience using Zoller tool presetters. According to Skwierczynski, ERA has benefited from the increased accountability that comes with using a tool management system and the reduced setup times that come with using a tool presetter.

Tom Bassett II, owner of ProCam Services, detailed the benefits of using a tool presetter to reduce setup time. According to Bassett, using a Zoller tool presetter reduced setup time so much that the machine paid for itself in three months. “I thought of presetters as being for production, not for job shops,” says Bassett, but after doing the math, he found that this was not the case. The ability to preset tools while the CNC machine was running saved one machinist’s time per day, even before factoring in tool set improvements due to the machine’s accuracy, and freed up machine space for more work.
The event offered a glimpse of what Zoller has in store for IMTS, and Zoller hopes visitors will walk away from the event with new ideas for their business. “When people come together at events like our open house, incredible synergy is created and it becomes clear what makes Zoller different,” said Rita Conroy Martin, Zoller’s director of marketing and customer experience.
