The Summer 2024 issue of Technology Record is out now and available for free in digital format.
According to the Microsoft and LinkedIn 2024 Work Trend Index report, employees are overwhelmed with work, with 68% struggling to keep up with the pace and volume of work and 46% feeling burned out. In this issue’s cover story, we look at how Microsoft’s portfolio of generative AI products and tools can automate fundamental processes, freeing up employees’ time at work to focus on higher-value tasks.
Organisations are also under pressure to address gender imbalances in traditionally male-led corporate and social infrastructure, our editor-in-chief Andy Clayton-Smith writes in the foreword. In a specially focused roundtable, women in tech discuss how they are joining forces to shatter the glass ceiling.
Kristin Bongard, Anna Radulovski and Gabriella Schuster share their insights on how tech companies can attract and retain more women.
Additionally, Kathleen Mitford, Microsoft corporate vice president of worldwide industry marketing, will discuss Microsoft’s industry strategy, including AI priorities, partnerships and sustainability efforts, and how customers across industries will benefit.
“Everything we do within the organization is focused on helping customers understand how technology can help them advance their business and accelerate their time to value,” said Microsoft’s Kathleen Mitford.
There will also be several industry-specific features led by Microsoft executives: Andy Beach will show how media companies are using Active Archives to tap into vast libraries of historical multimedia content, and Doug Priest will explain how connected data platforms and technology are helping city leaders transform public transportation systems. Plus, Anya Minbiole will discuss how AI is empowering frontline workers in retail, Tom Deprins will talk about the changing risk landscape in financial services, and Alfonso Rodriguez will reveal how manufacturers are investing in technology to retain employees and increase productivity.
We also feature our regular selection of news, case studies and thought leadership focused on hot topics across every industry.
