Forgame Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and a shareholder in Redrock Biometrics, has filed a lawsuit against HumanCode AI, alleging unauthorized use of Redrock’s proprietary biometric authentication technology and alleging widespread corporate fraud.
HumanCode AI, led by Hua Yang and Zhang Dong (aka Tim Zhang), is accused of using Redrock’s palm print authentication technology without authorization. HumanCode AI’s actions are said to be a serious breach of trust and a breach of legal obligations.
A representative for Forgame Holdings Limited said: “The actions of HumanCode AI and its management amount to corporate theft and fraud. This misuse of Redrock’s proprietary technology and violation of trust is unacceptable.”
“Forgame Holdings Limited is committed to taking all necessary legal steps to protect Redrock’s intellectual property and hold them accountable for these unethical actions.”
According to the complaint, HumanCode AI used RedRock’s palm fingerprint authentication technology without authorization in its business operations. The company is also accused of misleading investors by falsely claiming ownership of RedRock’s technology and its clients, including companies such as NCR, MasterCard, Qualcomm, Epson and Sony Life.
It is also alleged that Human Code AI executives who held positions at Red Rock breached their fiduciary duties by using their positions to benefit Human Code AI. Human Code AI is further accused of using Red Rock’s technology to establish and promote a competing business in violation of existing non-compete agreements.
Forgame Holdings Limited outlined its demands in a legal letter sent to HumanCode AI, including an immediate cessation of use and promotion of Redrock’s proprietary technology, a cessation of all activities involving Redrock’s intellectual property, and the return of all misappropriated intellectual property to Redrock.
Forgame has also asked HumanCode AI to provide a written confirmation of compliance within seven days. The company intends to sue HumanCode AI for breach of fiduciary duties, breach of non-competition agreements, and other violations, seeking substantial damages and injunctive relief.
Meanwhile, HumanCode AI recently partnered with TON Society to develop AI-powered palm biometric software with the aim of enhancing digital identity verification methods.
